We taught the YCC how to knit shit.
Wowzers! Now thats yarnbombing!
Barley’s knitted nights at Off Broadway and the Knitty Gritty team have all been contributing to Innocent’s Big Knit. Tonight its all about the Pom Poms!
Barley’s beautiful wool.
When we visit, we like to stand and stare.
Caught in the act!
On the bleary eyed walk to work this morning I came across more bleary eyed folk (some already a step ahead with the early caffeine hit) and stumbled across a gaggle of people staring at Boris Bikes… Huh?
As I got closer, it appeared that the entire row of Boris Bikes had been knitbombed. Awesome. Would it help the saddle sore? No, but fun nonetheless.
Boris would have been proud!
Yes, Knitty Gritty knit bombed Soho. Thanks to all who joined the #knitboris hashtag on Twitter and helped spread the word, some organically, some with a little nudge nudge wink wink.
It all began with an idea and some undercover knitting at Off Broadway as part of the Fabrications Wednesday night of the mighty knit (Gin cocktails included). A big thanks also to Annie Sherburne who was also part of the 5am knitbombing wake up call.
Every Wednesday we meet, pool ideas together and plan new projects. So come one, come all to Wednesdays at Off Broadway at London Fields and get knitting.
The question is, what is going to face the next Knitty Gritty knit bomb?
Our sources say he likes knitting, particularly on a Tuesday, with a nice cup of tea. Oh and a custard cream…
Those of you who haven’t got a beard but always wanted one or perhaps even never wanted one, but suffer from a cold chin in winter - Look no further!
